K-5th Grade
Music and Movement - Meera Jaffrey - Grades K-5
Students meet twice a week. Songs often focus on learning about other cultures, languages, and musical styles. Music is often incorporated into the curriculum, such as a "Seed Dance" that is part of the 2nd Grade plant study. There is a Thanksgiving Sing-a-Long and Winter and Spring Concerts.
Art - Nina Bell and Maddy Bell - Grades K-5
Students meet twice a week and work on a variety of projects, styles and mediums. We held our First Annual Art Show in Spring 2018.
Instrumental Music - Mike Brown - Grades 4-8
Students work with Mr. Brown starting in 4th Grade to select an instrument. There are Winter and a Spring Concerts.
Middle School: Wingspan Arts
Middle School students experience the arts through the
Wingspan Arts program
, which brings professional working artists into LCCS to teach intensive courses on subjects including Pop Choir, African Drumming, Visual Art, Hip-Hop Dance, Guitar, and Theater.
Students spend half the school year in one discipline, and then can switch for the second half or continue in the same field. There are two performances a year, in the Winter and Spring.
