I started working at LCCS in 2004 and have taught both second and fourth grade. In 2015, I moved into a newly created position as technology coordinator. Currently I teach coding/STEM to kindergarten through fifth grade, and 6th to 8th graders who choose my class through our Wingspan program.

When I am not planning or working on a project for school, I spend as much time as possible in my home yoga studio. I also attend weekly classes with my mentor teachers. It is not unusual for me to spend an entire weekend in a yoga workshop!

I also read daily. My list of favorite books grows as I read newly written books like The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Educated by Tara Westover. A constant reference book for me is Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar. I also read daily poems by Rumi who is an ancient Persian poet. I use the app Good Reads as a source for recommendations which has been great fun.

My list of favorite movies also grows as more creative media is being streamed. Rainy weekends are often spent catching up on a new series that I have heard of online or through friends. There is so much great content right now. Recent favorites are Succession on HBO, The Crown and Living with Yourself on Netflix, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon.

Quote to live by!

Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.
