Weighted Lottery Information

Our Weighted Lottery feature allows low-income families the opportunity to double their chances for getting into LCCS if they receive certain types of public assistance.  To qualify you'll either have to live in Section 8th or Public Housing, receive SNAP/TANF benefits, or your child need to qualify for free or reduced lunch at their current school

If you believe you qualify for the extra lottery chance, you will need to indicate on the application that

1) you are applying for the weighted lottery and

2) indicate what type of assistance you currently receive.  If you do apply, you will be required to provide the enrollment coordinator proof of the assistance prior to the January 16, 2026 deadline. Families who qualify will have their children’s application entered into the lottery twice, doubling their chances.

  • If you live in Section 8th or Public Housing, please provide a copy of a current lease or a letter from the management office.
  • If you are receiving SNAP/TANF benefits, please provide a copy of your government issued ID.
  • If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch at current public school, please send a verification letter issued by the current school.

Please send all documentation to admission@lccsnj.org. In the subject line please state "Proof of Weighted lottery qualification" and include your child's application number.
