Welcome to LCCS
A letter from our Head of School, Mr. Colin Hogan:
My favorite time of day from September through June is 8:00 AM. This is when I open the doors to welcome our students for another day at Learning Community Charter School (LCCS). Our students don’t just walk in; they run, dance, hop, and skip through the doors. This lively start reflects who we are as a school. We want every student to love coming to school and feel embraced by their school family as they say goodbye to their families each morning.
At LCCS, we embody our core values of compassion, accountability, and growth. Our curriculum challenges students as thinkers while connecting their learning to themselves and the broader community—locally, nationally, and globally.
We deeply care about our students' development as learners and individuals. For instance, first graders not only learn about the post office but also operate a school post office. Kindergartners go beyond studying insects to host an insect museum. Seventh graders apply their historical research skills by creating documentary films, exhibits, or dramatic performances for the National History Day program.
From 8:00 AM to 3:13 PM, our days are filled with laughter, problem-solving, art creation, and personal growth. We aim to make being part of our learning community a joyful and meaningful experience.
I invite you to consider enrolling your child at LCCS, joining our faculty, or learning more about our dynamic and challenging programs designed to foster compassion, growth, and accountability in making a difference in their community.
Colin Hogan, Head of School
