What is the COOP Exam?
The Cooperative Admissions Examination is an assessment strategy designed to enable the student's high school admissions program of choice to measure the growth and achievement of the student, to date, and develop an accurate understanding of the student's growth over time. The purpose of the examination is to provide objective information about eighth grade students applying to the Catholic High School admissions program of their choice. The examination measures academic achievement in reading, language, and mathematics and contains additional material to assess academic aptitude and memory

What does the COOP (HSPT) Exam look like?

Reading Language Arts including drawing inferences, main idea and drawing conclusions, punctuation, grammar, spelling, capitalization, sentence structure and English usage.

Mathematics including percentages, ratios, equations, basic geometry, simple algebra, fractions and decimals.

Sequences, Analogies and Reasoning including, analogies, sentence logic and verbal classification and reasoning

When is the COOP Exam?

Date: Friday, November 9, 2018 (8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.) Extended Time (8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
Makeup examination: Saturday, November 17, 2018 (same times) 
Testing Registration Opens: September 1, 2018 ONLINE

Where can I take the COOP Exam at?
At established test sites in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex counties in New Jersey. (your personal selection)

How can I register for the COOP Exam?
Obtain an application and handbook from a Catholic elementary or high school beginning Sept.1. You may also email or call 1-888-921-COOP (2667) weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. 

How much does the COOP Exam cost?
A non-refundable registration fee of $65.00 will include scores sent to three high schools of your choice and a Home Report.
