Letter to Families

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Ally Szecsi, and I will be your student’s 5th grade special ed. reading teacher or middle school in-class support teacher for this year. I am excited to be returning for another year to LCCS. I have a masters degree in elementary education K-6 and special education from Georgian Court University and a bachelors from the University of Delaware. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my dog Ravioli and my cat Marco, volunteering for a dog and cat rescue group, and crewing for hot air balloon pilots.

I believe that students learn best in a warm, enriching environment where they have the confidence and support to push themselves academically to their individual maximum potentials. It is then that they will be able to take the skills learned and generalize them into their world as they become competent and educated citizens of their community. It is my goal to ensure that the supports that your student will receive in my class will strengthen and build upon the skills that they have been learning in all of their classrooms. I will be working cooperatively with their teachers to ensure that this support accurately occurs.

Additionally, I believe that learning does not stop at the end of the school day but continues at home as well. I will be sending your child home most days with small assignments to practice their skills and would greatly appreciate any additional support that they would receive at home while working on these assignments. I also like to keep a very open line of communication with all of the parents of my students and plan to reach out to you from time to time with updates on your child’s progress.

Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I can be reached via my LCCS email aszecsi@lccsnj.org, and unless there are extenuating circumstances, I will always respond back to you within 24 hours. I am looking forward to a great school year!
