Maureen Rexer is the Assistant Head of School at Learning Community Charter School. She studied at James Madison University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Writing and Rhetoric. She then earned her teaching certificate through Richard Stockton College and began teaching middle school language arts in 2007; for over a decade Maureen taught a variety of literacy-based classes to middle school students in a small district located in Middlesex county. Outside the classroom, she was student council advisor, swim coach, and choreographer for the school play. In 2009, she was named New Jersey Governor’s Teacher of the Year.

Maureen attended Seton Hall University from 2016-2017, where she earned her Masters degree in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy.  She then took the role of Dean of Students, where she piloted a school-wide Restorative Practices program. She was trained through the International Institute of Restorative Practices, a graduate program wholly dedicated to the restorative initiative. After piloting the program in the middle school, she trained and launched the program in the high-school, where it is still successfully running today.
